Apple has launched its second-generation AirTag, a Bluetooth tracker designed for iPhones, with a price tag of $29. The new device features Apple's second-generation Ultra Wideband chip, also used in the iPhone 17 lineup and Apple Watch Ultra 3, allowing for Precision Finding to reach items up to 50 percent further away than the previous model. This feature is compatible with Apple Watch Series 9, Ultra 2, and later iterations, in addition to iPhones. The AirTag is also 50 percent louder and has a distinctive new chime, while still utilizing the Find My network to locate items. Despite these improvements, the device still lacks a keyring hole, requiring users to purchase additional accessories. Launched in 2021, the AirTag has been a popular choice for iPhone users due to its convenience within the Find My app. The updated AirTag is available now, offering enhanced range and functionality for users seeking to track their belongings.
