Python dev promises burnout-free china wholesale tracking with dhgate and yiwugo scrapers, delivers eternal sqlite debugging instead
A comprehensive price tracking system has been developed to monitor wholesale prices on two major Chinese e-commerce platforms, DHgate and Yiwugo. The system utilizes Python to scrape product data from both platforms, storing historical prices in a SQLite database and detecting changes. By comparing prices across both platforms, users can identify arbitrage opportunities, negotiate with suppliers, and optimize purchasing timing. The system has been tested on several product categories, including wireless earbuds and phone cases, revealing significant price gaps between the two platforms, with Yiwugo offering prices 46.6% and 61.8% cheaper on average for these products, respectively. The daily tracking script, which can be automated via cron or Apify scheduler, provides users with timely alerts on price changes, enabling them to make informed decisions and stay ahead of competitors. The tool has significant implications for businesses sourcing products from China, allowing them to capitalize on price fluctuations and optimize their supply chains.
