Claude and ChatGPT

A developer has created a markup language called TaskML, designed for task management and output by AI agents such as Claude and ChatGPT. The language is human-readable, AI-writable, and instantly parseable, allowing for reliable parsing and visualization of task output. TaskML supports seven different views, including a classic nested task list and a Gantt-chart style view. The language can be taught to AI models with a simple system prompt, and has been successfully integrated with models such as Claude and ChatGPT. TaskML has zero runtime dependencies, is approximately 15KB minified and gzipped, and is MIT licensed. The developer has made the language available on GitHub and npm, and has created an interactive playground for testing and experimentation. The project is still in its early stages, with plans for future integrations with VS Code, Obsidian, and React, as well as the development of a CLI tool.
