Dev unleashes TUI wizard to automate macOS VMs on Proxmox 9, sparing you from OpenCore config purgatory and endless UEFI stares
A developer has created a one-command macOS VM tool for Proxmox 9, called osx-proxmox-next, to simplify the process of setting up a macOS virtual machine. The tool, available on GitHub, is a TUI wizard that runs on the Proxmox 9 host and guides users through a five-step process, including preflight checks, configuration, validation, dry run, and live application. The dry run feature allows users to review the qm commands before execution, ensuring accuracy and minimizing errors. The tool also automatically generates unique serial numbers, UUIDs, and board models, eliminating the need for manual OpenCore configuration editing. The osx-proxmox-next tool supports various macOS versions, including Sonoma 14, Sequoia 15, and Tahoe 26, and offers optional guest-side scripts to enhance responsiveness. With over 20 sponsors, the developer plans to add features such as reusable VM templates, auto OpenCore updates, and a GPU passthrough wizard, making it a significant contribution to the Proxmox community.
