Google crams Gemini into Chrome: Nano Banana spits out images from your sidebar, auto-buys forgotten jackets, and spies on your emails for 'personalized' help

Starting today, users can access a new sidebar interface that allows them to chat with Gemini and keep conversations going across multiple tabs. The sidebar also provides access to Nano Banana, Google's in-house image generator, which can create and edit images directly within the browser. The company is also previewing an auto browse feature, which can automate online tasks such as shopping, for Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers in the US.
