Dev unleashes Rust TUI with 9 themes and async spinners to monitor GitHub Copilot usage, because web dashboards are for amateurs

Cesar Castillo has developed a terminal-based tool, copilot-usage_tui, to track GitHub Copilot Pro usage in real-time, providing a beautiful and interactive dashboard. The tool, built with Rust, features progress bars, per-model statistics, and seamless Waybar integration for Hyprland users. With a non-blocking UI and async architecture, users can monitor their Copilot consumption without friction. The tool includes a theme system with nine gorgeous color themes, a cache system with a five-minute TTL, and support for fine-grained PAT and classic tokens. Castillo utilized GitHub Copilot CLI to build the tool, which was submitted as part of the GitHub Copilot CLI Challenge. The project is open-source, and users can install it using cargo install. The tool provides benefits such as easy testing, no hidden state mutations, and instant theme changes. With over 300 requests per month available on GitHub Copilot Pro, this tool helps developers track their usage efficiently, making it a valuable resource for the coding community.
